Create a character (alpha is enough to start with) that will manage your assets in Jita. To buy and sell stuff and move it from and to jita. (for hauling Prowler and Fenrir are best) Or use pushX or public courier contracts.
Then set up a container in Jita where all the “Jita junk” – that is, all the items from events that you’d otherwise throw away- goes. Over time, some of them will become surprisingly valuable. (and when its in jita, it saves you moving it, if and when we move out of your current home)
For more “legroom” create your own corporation and use the hangars and accounts to manage your items and ISK.
Why more hangers and wallets for the jita char?
If you buy and sell items using just one character, it’s hard to keep track of where the ISK is coming from and where it’s going.
Plus, if all your money is in one place, you can lose all of it, if you accept the wrong contract or buy the wrong order.
That’s why one character has only 5–10 million (for clone jumps), the main wallet has enough ISK for “daily expenses,” and all remaining ISK is held in the corporation’s wallet 7 as a reserve.
wallets 2–6 can be used as project accounts. In other words, if you’re building and selling something, all the ISK goes through one dedicated account.
