But be aware that there is a certain probability that the T2 (Strip)Miner will destroy a portion of the mining yield, with each cycle while mining, inside the asteroid. Example:
- An asteroid is being mined using a Hulk’s T1 Strip Miner. With each pass, 1,815 m³ of ore is extracted from the asteroid and loaded into the Hulk’s ore hold.
- An asteroid is mined using a Hulk equipped with the Modulated Strip Miner II and loaded with a Simple Asteroid Mining Crystal Type A II. With each pass, 2,614 m³ of ore is extracted from the asteroid and loaded into the Hulk’s ore hold. However, there is also a 37.6% probability, slightly more than once every three cycles, that 2,614 m³ of ore within the asteroid will be destroyed, rendering it no longer available for mining.
Thats called „residue“ and for this reason, most corporations and alliances prohibit the mining of a Moon Belt with anything other than T1 or ORE Strip Miner. The moon ore is just too valuable to throw it away.
